Switch Module

Switch module is a networking device used to connect multiple devices in a local area network (LAN). It operates at the data link layer of the OSI model, which is responsible for the transfer of data between adjacent network nodes. This computer switch modules is designed to receive data frames from the devices connected to it and to forward them to their intended destination. It uses the destination MAC address in the data frame to determine the correct port to forward the data to, rather than broadcasting the data to all connected devices as a hub would. Switch modules are available in various sizes, ranging from small devices with a few ports to large enterprise-grade switches with hundreds of ports. They also come with different speed options, such as 10/100 Mbps or gigabit Ethernet, and may support advanced features such as VLANs, QoS, and link aggregation.
